About Duke’s Oceanfest:
If you love watersports then this Waikiki Thing to Do is a must for you! Created to honor Duke Kahanamoku, an exceptionally accomplished Hawaiian athlete and businessman, this 9-day Honolulu Event features all of the sports that Kahanamoku loved best, and is a fun, exciting Event to enjoy during a stay at Ambassador Hotel - A Honolulu Hotel.
Several competitions will take place at venues located throughout Waikiki. Some of the sports that will be represented are longboard surfing, which Kahanamoku helped make popular, paddleboard racing, tandem surfing, beach volleyball, swimming and many others.
This Honolulu Event is billed as “Waikiki’s Premier Ocean Sports Festival,” but it is more than a just a series of fun competitions. One of the missions of Duke’s Oceanfest, which is in its 13th year, is to provide grant money and educational scholarships to Hawaiian athletes.
Individual athletes and teams come from around the world to compete in this Waikiki Thing to Do. In addition to the traditional watersport competition, This Honolulu Event also features some fun Activities such as the lifeguard competition.
